Hajj Care Packages

Embarking on the Hajj pilgrimage is a deeply spiritual and physically demanding journey, requiring thorough preparation to ensure a smooth and fulfilling experience. Packing the right essentials can significantly ease the challenges faced during this sacred trip. From choosing a comfortable backpack and carrying extra shoes to prioritizing hydration with Liquid I.V., these tips help pilgrims stay well-equipped and focused on their spiritual duties. Protecting oneself from the sun and heat, keeping necessary medications, and having a reliable phone setup are crucial for maintaining well-being and communication. Additionally, thoughtful acts like sharing supplies, clearly labeling personal items, and minimizing distractions to concentrate on worship underscore the importance of community, safety, and devotion during Hajj.​

  1. Backpack: Choose one with cushioned shoulder pads for added comfort.

  2. Extra Shoes: Bring an additional pair.

  3. Hydration: Pack Liquid I.V. for instant hydration to prevent dehydration and heat stroke. It is lightweight and easy to carry. Bring extra packs to share in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah.

  4. Sun and Heat Protection:

    1. Carry an umbrella with a sun-reflective coating. A short one is preferred to avoid obstructing others.

    2. Use good sunglasses with straps to keep your hands free for rituals.

    3. Bring multiple water bottles and share them with others in need.

    4. Take a cooling towel, wet it at water stations, and use it on your head when not in Ihram.

    5. Freeze water bottles in your hotel’s mini-fridge and bring them along to share.

    6. Be prepared for long lines at water stations.

    7. Refill water bottles and cooling towels as needed.

    8. If necessary, wheelchairs can be used in the Mina tunnel, especially for women, children, and the elderly (they cost around 100 SAR).

    9. Men should bring Vaseline.

    10. Use unscented sunscreen to protect from direct sun exposure.

  5. Medication: Always carry a couple of days' worth of your medicine.

  6. Map: Get a map of your Mina camp and know its location, which is usually marked on poles as the Camp number or road number.

  7. Phone:

    1. Keep it fully charged; power outlets are limited, especially in Muzdalifah, Mina, and Arafat.

    2. Bring a power bank to charge on the go.

    3. Consider an international plan or buy a SIM card in Saudi Arabia.

    4. Google Maps often works better than Apple Maps.

    5. Download Google Translate to communicate in Arabic and other languages.

    6. Don’t forget your charging cable and an international adapter.

    7. Use WhatsApp for communication and voice messages.

    8. Phone: Always carry it with you.

  8. Sharing Supplies: After rituals, share extra food and supplies with cleaning staff, volunteers, and fellow Hajjis.

  9. Identification: Carry your Hajj ID, hotel address, and some always cash.

  10. Label Bags: Clearly label your bags to avoid mix-ups.

    1. · Bag Use: Use your bag as a pillow in Arafat, Mina, and Muzdalifah to keep it safe.

  11. Snacks: Bring protein bars for instant energy.

  12. Rest: Take naps and rest whenever possible.

  13. Focus on Worship: Spend more time remembering Allah and making Duas; avoid unnecessary chit-chat and phone calls. Remember, you are a special guest of Allah.

  14. Toiletries: Pack small toothpaste, a toothbrush, and unscented soap.

  15. Littering: Don’t litter; use trash cans to keep the area clean for others.

  16. Safety Belt: Use a Hajj safety belt to keep important belongings secure.
